(WSLS 10) - School districts around the country have received grants to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables in school lunchrooms.

The money comes from the Let's Move Salad Bars to Schools partnership. The group said its goal is to put salad bars in every U.S. school in the hopes of teaching children about making healthy choices.

Director of Foundation Programs and Partnerships Andrew Marshall said it's not difficult to convince kids to eat healthy.

"Ya know, kids are like us. They eat with their eyes first and if we can create an attractive display every day as they go through the lunch line and have their fruits and vegetables," Marshall explained.

Since 2010, the program put more than 4,100 salad bars in schools across the country. Pulaski County Schools are the only southwest Virginia system to make use of the program so far.
