AMHERST CO. (WSLS10) -Students at Sweet Briar College began making their way back to the semester they once thought they would never see.
Students will start trickling into campus Sunday with the bulk of students coming in Monday.
Orientation begins on Sunday.
Classes for the college start Thursday, August 27th.
This is a day that almost didn't happen after the college announced it was closing due to financial troubles back on March 3rd.
Thanks to the spirited campaign headed by the group "Saving sweet briar" the college will stay open for at least this year.
President Phillip Stone says he is in it for the long haul however, and promises the college will be open for another 114 years.
