Pulaski County animal shelter “bursting at the seams”

PULASKI COUNTY (WSLS 10) – Workers at the Pulaski County Animal Shelter said the facility “is bursting at the seams with both dogs and cats,” and asks members of the community to consider fostering or adopting animals this weekend.

The shelter said it saw an unprecedented number of stray animals coming to the shelter Wednesday and Thursday and it’s not sure why. The shelter emphasized its position as a “kill shelter” and said if many of the animals are not adopted or fostered soon, they may be euthanized due to space issues.

Any help you can provide in helping us get the word out about the dire threat these poor souls are facing would be much appreciated. These babies are in the homeless shelter through no fault of their own.”

The shelter said some of the animals are sponsored, meaning they have been sterilized and vaccinated, and their fee would be between $15 and $0.

A complete list of the animals available, including those pictured in this story, is available on the Pulaski County Humane Society’s Facebook page.
