Woman reported missing for 21 years could be in the Virginia-North Carolina area

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Ocean City Police Department in New Jersey is asking for the public's help in locating and/or identifying a homeless woman from the Virginia-North Carolina area, who may be a 21-year-old missing person.

In January of 1994, police say Renee LaManna was reported missing to the Ocean City Police Department and entered into NCIC as a 'Missing Person.'

In January of 2015, a check of databases was conducted and detectives say it appears that Renee had been quarried numerous times in various locations throughout the United States, since 1994. It's believed that she is traveling from area to area, utilizing homeless shelters, and missions as means of shelter.

In February of 2015, a call was received by family members from a person, who assisted a "homeless person" believed to be Renee, in the Franklin County, Virginia area.

Detectives say this person aided a woman who matched a photograph which was posted on social media and contacted family members in October of 2014. Since that time, she has departed to an unconfirmed location. However, has been seen and assisted by other good samaritans in the Virginia and North Carolina area.

The attached photograph was taken by a law enforcement agency from the Asheville, North Carolina area during an intervention. This woman displayed has utilized several different names during her interaction with law enforcement. However, has never been able to supply any valid identification.

This woman is believed by family members to be Renee LaManna, however, her identity has not been confirmed.

In October 2014, LaManna was spotted in Danville, Gretna, Glade HIll, Rocky Mt., and Roanoke.
