SALEM (WSLS 10 SPORTS) It was a magical season for the Glenvar Highlanders a year ago. The momumental run to the 2A state title in 2014 included wins over Wise Central, Union, Giles,Nottoway and Wilson Memorial. Coach Kevin Clifford returns enough talent from that 14-1 bunch to be considered a contender by just about everyone, but they are only worried about doing the work necessary to stay on top.
"If you're going to be successful in whatever endeavor you got to be wrong to grind it out day in and day out and I think that's one thing we take pride in here is what I want to work all year and our kids about into that in and they bought into that early you know we were very fortunate last year that things didn't go our way but I think we are in that as well, explains 1st and 10 Coach of the Year Kevin Clifford.
