LYNCHBURG (AP) - A former correctional officer has been charged with having inappropriate sexual contact with an inmate at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center.
Media outlets report that a Lynchburg grand jury indicted 40-year-old Timothy Wayne Farrar, Jr. on Monday, The Lynchburg resident is charged with two counts of carnal knowledge of an inmate by a jail employee.

Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority administrator Tim Trent previously told media outlets that he received a complaint from the female inmate in May. He turned the investigation over to police.
Farrar's trial is set for Nov. 23 in Lynchburg Circuit Court.
