DALEVILLE (WSLS 10) - Crews battled a fire on Tinker Mountain near Interstate 81, exit 150 Tuesday morning.

Botetourt Co. Fire and EMS said units from Troutville were dispatched around 3:30 a.m. for a report of fire on the mountain. By 1:30 p.m., the fire was contained.
The fire burned around one acre, even thought previous estimates thought the fire to be larger.
The first arriving units found a red glow and obvious fire on top of Tinker Mountain. Additional resources from Botetourt County and the Department of Forestry were called to the scene.
Local firefighters have transitioned off of the mountain, and state and federal resources were going to remain on scene throughout Tuesday evening.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire, and no homes were endangered..
