Angels of Assisi needs donations after large-scale rescue operation

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - Roanoke animal shelter Angels of Assisi said it needs supplies after a large scale rescue is bringing an influx of animals to the facility.

Angels of Assisi's executive director said two rescues were happening Tuesday evening. One was in Botetourt County involving a number of cats. The other involving farm animals in an unknown location. Some of the animals were arriving at the shelter Tuesday evening.

Animal control officers in Botetourt County said Wednesday the rescue happened on Lee's Gap Road. No charges have been filed in the case.

Angels of Assisi said it is in desperate need of:

  • bowls
  • litter boxes
  • Purina cat, kitten, dog, puppy chow
  • cat litter
  • crates
  • towels/newspaper
  • copy paper
  • donations to our adoption center or Harmony Farm Sanctuary

To donate any of these items, bring them to either the shelter at 415 Campbell Avenue SW, Roanoke, VA 24016 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday - Friday or any Roanoke-area PetSmart location. Also, email angels@angelsofassisi.org.
