"River's mission" was started in memory of her.

Saturday they joined with the non-profit "kids in cars" to spread awareness about the dangers of hot cars for children. Jackson says she hopes she can help educate other parents about safety tips she wishes she would have known.

"I want to memorialize my daughter and honor my daughter," Jackson said. "I want to just let parents know that hot car deaths is a real thing, it is a serious issue and it can happen to anybody."

One tip to help parents remember to always check the back seat is to leave a stuffed animal in your childs car seat when they aren't with you. When they are, put the stuffed animal in your front passenger, so you'll always remember to turn around and check your backseat.
