BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - Blacksburg is gearing up to host its second triathlon next weekend, but race organizers said they need more athletes to make it happen.

The TriAdventure sprint race began in Christiansburg five years ago, and moved to Blacksburg last year. This year's race will be the second to take place in two years in its new location.

The 300-yard swim, 10-mile bike ride and three-mile run is the only race of its kind in Montgomery County.

So far, 40 people are on board for the August 9 event, but organizers say they need 40 more to give the green light. Around 150 racers participated last year.

Organizers will make a decision this weekend whether there are enough participants to continue with the race.
