ROANOKE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors voted in favor of setting aside money for new voting machines.

The new machines will cost the county nearly $400,000. The board was forced to act after the department of elections de-certified the county's WinVote machines back in April.

Meanwhile, Supervisor Jason Peters said closed session was underway Tuesday evening to discuss a new crash reporting center.

The police department said officers respond to 2,600 calls for traffic crashes each year, putting a heavy burden on the force. For that reason, Roanoke County police are proposing the center to cut down on road closures and congestion.
