31 arrests made in Alleghany Co. drug round-up

ALLEGHANY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - Alleghany County Sheriff Kevin Hall said the Alleghany Drug Task Force conducted a "round-up" Tuesday, resulting in 31 arrests and 95 total charges filed.

The round-up, which began around 7 a.m. Tuesday, covered Alleghany and Bath counties, Covington and Clifton Forge. The charges are related to multiple drugs including cocaine, meth, heroin, marijuana and prescription medications.

In all, 43 indictments, 31 arrests and 95 charges resulted from the round-up.

The Sheriff said he expected some people to turn themselves in Tuesday evening and investigators were still locating a few suspects at 5 p.m. Some suspects were discovered to be out of state. He said mugshots for all involved were forthcoming.
