ROANOKE (WSLS) - Fleet Feet is making a difference partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters in a big way.

For every "big" and "little" who show up to take part in a walking group the "little" will get a brand new pair of fitted shoes.

The local running store has raised money in the past for Big Brothers Big Sisters, but this is the first time store owners have given away new shoes to the kids.

"I think one of the important things for us as a locally owned business is to give back to the community in which we live and this is a great group and organization for us to be able to do that," Blaine Lewis explained, co-owner of Fleet Feet.

"This is such a generous activity for fleet feet to be doing for us. Again, not only putting on an event, but to give so freely to the kids in our program," said Jessica Scaggs, BBBS marketing coordinator.

New Balance has chosen the Roanoke store to help with community involvement, so the "littles" will receive a pair of New Balance shoes.
