Hokies, Cavaliers Brace for Tough Openers

Pinehurst, North Carolina(WSLS 10 Sports) The 2015 ACC football kickoff hit the round running on Monday as the student athletes spoke to the media. For Virginia Tech a lot of questions were about their season opener against the defending national champions Ohio State. We caught up with the Hokies Michael Brewer who is ready for a rematch of last year's win.

"You know coach Beamer has been talking about it, it's probably the most highly anticipated game ever in Lane Stadium from what he says, so it's going to be fun. It's going to be a great atmosphere for the fans. Coming off of a win last year in Columbus gives us confidence of what we can do and we are a better team than last year and they're a better team than when they played us so it's going to be a heck of a game," explains Brewer.

It's definitely something to look forward to but you know we can't look at it too much we got a look at it as it being the next game-- at being the next biggest game just cause it's the next game so we definitely been training for it working for it--and it's almost here."

UVA opens their schedule with 4 tough games--UCLA Notre Dame, William and Mary and Boise State, but the Cavaliers are up for the challenge.

"I really can't wait. I know my guys are excited to get after it that's always been talking about that's always been working towards we've been working towards all summer. Ever since the season ended last year, really. So we just want to compete and get after it. We really can't wait it's a great opportunity and we got to take advantage of it," says Wide Receiver Canaan Severin.

"We have a lot of guys with experience a lot of guys that played last year and so now we bring those same guys that and now they're able to pass on the wisdom to the younger guys that play and now we have a lot of knowledge and just a knowledge from our mistakes in the past years and now we have the ability to fix those mistakes that we've done wrong."
