LYNCHBURG (WSLS10) - New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings said it's humbling to give back to kids who could potentially make it into the NFL. He said he wants to not only take away some fundamental skills but also life long skills that could help them succeed.
About 200 kids ranging in ages 6-17 were at the Jamerson YMCA in Lynchburg, Saturday. They learned all the fundamentals to make sure they are safe and successful in football.

Some worked with current NFL players like Mike Brown with the Carolina Panthers. Jennings hoped kids take away some life lessons as well.
"I hope these kids truly understand you can not allow the opinions of others to deteriorate your attitude," Jennings said.
Jennings said Camp 180 gave kids an inside look at how the NFL operates and encourages kids to take an inside look at themselves to be responsible for their actions.
"To come back to the community, the familiar who watched this unlikely kid grown into a man overcome the adversity that I went through, academically, physically emotionally it means a lot to me" Jennings said.
Parents who have children who participated hope young players take away skills like team building, and leadership off the gridiron.
"I know in my life, the leadership lessons I've learned, as far as working together as a team ,developing yourself as a whole person comes through the game of football, it's a lot more than throwing the football around and playing catch," Keith Rose a parent said
