Coaches learned how to keep players safe

LYNCHBURG (WSLS10) -  This weekend, coaches across the Commonwealth received training to make sure their players are safe. Workers from USA Football, an organization that wants to create a safer football experience for young people, held a work shop in Lynchburg.

Coaches from area high schools learned to recognize the signs and symptoms of a concussion.

Trainers said it's imperative to prevent players from getting brain damage.

"It's well documented at the NFL level head injuries of former players and some of the issues the former players have had later in life, in all levels of football particular usa football is committed to making the game as safe as we can possibly make it," Christopher DiZebba a master trainer with USA Football said.
