Nations Baseball World Series comes to Christiansburg

CHRISTIANSBURG (WSLS) - The diamonds are busy across the New River Valley, as the Nations Baseball World Series comes to Christiansburg for the second year.

While the town of Christiansburg is the main host, there are games being played at a number of venues in Radford, Pulaski and Blacksburg.

More than 60 teams from Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio are competing this year. That is more than double the teams from the previous year.

The tournament is expected to bring in more than 3,000 visitors to the area.

The tournament got started on Wednesday with a skills competition and it will wrap up with its final games on Sunday.
