The U.S. Women’s Soccer team will be honored in New York City in a ticker-tape parade, the first female athletes to receive the honor in more than 50 years.

The parade is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday along the Canyon of Heroes in Lower Manhattan.

On Sunday, the team won its third World Cup.

The last female athlete to have a ticker-tape parade in New York City was figure skater CarolHeiss Jenkins, who won a gold medal in the 1960 Winter Olympics.
