It's the second year for the Virginia Coaches Association All-Star games back in Lynchburg. The games had spent several years in the Hampton Roads area. Tuesday's softball game at Liberty University was dominated by the East's ace pitcher-- King William's Kayla Huffman. She notched 14 strikeouts in 6 scoreless innings in the 7-5 East win over the West. She was the East MVP. The West MVP was Alleghany outfielder Shannon Bennett, who had a pair of RBI's in the loss.

"It's such an honor really-- I totally wasn't expecting it to be named an all-star, one of the 16 girls from the west to be able to be a part of this is amazing. It's such a privilege," explains Bennett.
"It's bittersweet but at the same time one chapter has to end to start a new one," commented Floyd County catcher Amanda Whitlow.
The All-Star action continues with Boys and Girls soccer games scheduled for Wednesday and Volleyball action along with football slated for Thursday.
