Arrest made in Dallas, Tx. in connection to Henry Co. murder investigation

HENRY COUNTY (WSLS 10) - The Henry County Sheriff's Office said an associate of a man found dead in a Collinsville motel was arrested in Dallas on outstanding warrants for second degree murder and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Benjamin Rios Tovar was arrested in connection to the investigation on outstanding warrants for second degree murder and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was arrested in the Dallas, Texas area without incident.

The victim, 23-year-old Sandesh Rajendra Dhavan, was in the U.S. from India for a work/study program. Dhavan's body was found at the Knights Inn at 2357 Virginia Avenue after deputies received a 911 call Tuesday morning.

An autopsy was performed at the Medical Examiner's office in Roanoke and the preliminary report lists Dhavan's death as a homicide.

Deputies were looking for 27-year-old Tovar - an associate of Dhavan's - to check on his well-being. Sheriff Lane Perry said his office believed Dhavan and Tovar were subcontractors for GTL Americas Limited, which notified officials after the pair were absent from work for several days. Tovar and the Dhavan were reported to have been staying together.
