(WSLS 10) - Danville City Council holds a public hearing today as it looks to change voting districts. The proposal will merge Ward Five which currently votes at Forest Hills Elementary school into Ward Three. Voting for the combined precinct would take place at Langston Focus School. The change is needed because of fencing with locking gates at Forest Hills and limited parking. If passed, the changes will take effect for the General Election in November.

A Maryland woman goes before a grand jury today for a perjury charge involving the disappearance of Sheila and Katherine Lyon. According to the Commonwealth's Attorney, Patricia Welch falsely testified before a grand jury. Last week, she waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Welch's husband Richard Welch and his nephew Lloyd Welch have been named as persons of interest in the case. Patricia and Richard Welch previously owned land in Bedford County during the time the sisters disappeared. Charges have not been filed against Richard or Lloyd Welch.
