Video shows FSU QB punching woman at bar

WFLA.com Staff – TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) – A graphic video of the Florida State quarterback De'Andre Johnson allegedly punching a young woman at a bar was released Monday.

According to the Tallahassee Democrat, Johnson, 19, was captured on security video at the bar punching a female patron. According to NBC Sports, Johnson appears to have a verbal exchange with a woman before exchanging punches with her.

The court documents state, that Johnson was at Yianni's nightclub located at 320 Rave St. in Tallahassee. The victim was at the nightclub waiting to order a drink at the bar. She felt someone pushing her aggressively from behind, she turned around and saw Johnson. The woman raised her arm to defend herself, when Johnson grabbed her arm and pushed her. The victim raised her knee trying to shove him away. Johnson pushed her arm down as she was pushing him with her knee. That's when she tried to strike him with her left arm to get him to let go. He punched her in her face.

The woman stayed at the bar and Johnson left with his friends, according to the court documents.

The woman had a bruise under her left eye, swelling to the left cheek and upper lip, and a small cut near her nose. She wants to proceed with the prosecution of the battery charge.

According to FSU, Johnson was suspended indefinitely for a violation of athletic department policy.

Johnson turned himself in after the incident, he was charged with misdemeanor battery.

The State Attorney's office released the incident video Monday.
