LEXINGTON (WSLS 10) - The 19th Annual Hot Air Balloon Rally kicks off Thursday at the VMI Parade Ground.
Organizers expect 18,000 people to attend this year. The festival runs from Thursday afternoon to Sunday morning.

Thirteen hot air balloons will fly this weekend. Six different launches are scheduled.
Rides cost $220 per person. Tethered rides are offered as well.
The event's website lists tethered rides as costing $20 for adults and $7 for kids.
There will also be vendors and kids activities at the event on Saturday. Fourth of July fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
The Navy confirmed the lockdown but could not confirm the nature of the emergency. Dozens of police cars swarmed the site, and a helicopter circled overhead. Department of Homeland Security police directed cars away from the scene.
The Navy Yard is in southeast Washington, near the headquarters of the Transportation Department and the ballpark of the Washington Nationals. It is about two miles from the Capitol.
