It was the 6th Annual Youth Day at the Greenbrier Classic and junior golfers from Roanoke and surrounding areas had the opportunity Tuesday to play on the Old White Course with the games best.Not many junior golfers can say they've played on a PGA course, or with any professional golfers. But, members of the First Tee of The Roanoke Valley got to do just that. Katherine Bowles of Lexington paired with professionals Jonathan Byrd and Justin Thomas. Also teeing off hole one from Roanoke is Patrick Henry's Vince Wheeler who has benefited a lot from the First Tee program."It's amazing, just having the opportunity to be out here, much less play. I mean play with a couple of tour pros, you don't get to do that everyday. It's awesome. They have experience playing at a high level and learn from them, watch from them, just take it away," said Wheeler.
The First Tee also provides golfers with other opportunities. Vince will be playing in Pebble Beach in September.
