DANVILLE (WSLS 10) - Danville Utilities line crews continue efforts Friday to restore service to customers who lost power during Thursday evening's severe storms.

The storms were concentrated in but not limited to the Keeling, Kentuck, Ringgold and Sutherlin communities. Those storms produced high winds that downed trees and power lines.

Friday morning, crews estimate 200 customers remain without power. Outages are scattered, but the heaviest concentration of remaining outages is along Ferguson Road, Raven Hollow Road, Hillside Road and Bennett Drive in the Ringgold community.

A contract crew is arriving to repair a broken utility pole in a wooded area off Ferguson Road.

At the height of the storms last night, an estimated 400 to 500 customers were without power.

Crews worked through the night to restore power. When outages are scattered, it takes more to restore service to all customers.
