ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A former Roanoke physician and methadone clinic director will spend the next ten years behind bars on drug and child pornography charges.

U.S. District Court Judge Glen Conrad sentenced Steven J. Collins, 52, on Tuesday to 120 months in prison and eight years of supervised release.

Investigators said he had thousands of child porn images and videos on his work computer from his office located on Williamson Road. A warrant was initially issued due to an investigation into certain prescription drugs.

The August 2014 drug raid of Collins' medical practice resulted in agents finding a child pornography collection estimated at 137,042 images and 203 videos.

By analyzing computer data, agents determined Collins was looking at the photos and videos after his office closed.

Analysts also found deleted files on his computer dating back to 2010.
