CHIP hopes to help more families with new building

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - CHIP of Roanoke Valley has a new building and plans to help more families in need.

The Smyth M Meadow Building was dedicated Wednesday. It's next to CHIP's main office on Third Street.

CHIP is an early childhood home visiting program and provides services for low income children.

CHIP's CEO says it plans on providing therapeutic counseling services to families with the expansion.

"The hole for the future is that we can expand to serve more and more families in poverty," says Robin Haldiman, CHIP. "We currently serve over 1,100 children about 700 families a year."
