PULASKI COUNTY (WSLS) - Hundreds came out to the newly renovated Calfee Park on Tuesday for opening day for the Pulaski Yankees. The venue has undergone a multi-million dollar renovation which includes more parking, additional seats and a Jumbotron.

Fans young and old filled the seats at the new and improved home of the Yankees.

"It's really pretty everything has been painted and refreshed it looks really great," said longtime fan Stan Massie.

For the first time, fans rooted for the Pulaski Yankees. Last year, the Seattle Mariners pulled out - which left the home crowd wondering if they'd see a minor league team in Pulaski this year.

"It's important because minor league baseball is what makes Pulaski," said Blair Hoke, Pulaski Yankees marketing manager. "We were really afraid we weren't going to have baseball."

The New York Yankees stepped in and officials said millions in renovations were made including more seats, improvements to the concession area and other upgrades. With better views, park officials said they hope to see Calfee Park attract bigger crowds and provide a boost to the Pulaski community.
