ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - One by one, cars pull into Shively Electric with a load of papers to be shred in the third of four WSLS 10 Kodiak Shredding Shred-A-Thons. In eight hours, 175,000 pounds of documents were collected.

Gary Sapp is making the last of three trips Monday.

"It wasn't that bad," he said. "I think we did it all in a couple of hours."

He drops off documents for a local attorney. He's one of at least three lawyers who stopped by to make sure confidential information was properly disposed of.

"He just wanted to get rid of it so this is the best way, I reckon," Sapp said.

Reggie Davis and his sister stopped by for the same reason.

"I'm just bringing some old bills and had some business I really need to get rid of. Some important things and you guys were very good to allow me to do this," Davis said.

Hundreds of cars in all, shredding thousands of pounds of items. Five trucks couldn't hold it all. A second tractor trailer pulled in ready to be loaded.

Todd Bradshaw made a return trip.

"I didn't even have to get out," he said. "They pulled it out of my car."

This time, the GoodFellaz Pizza owner is here to "pay" the workers in pizza for doing what he said would have taken him longer to do himself.

"Honestly, I'd be doing it for a month myself," Bradshaw said as he dropped off donated pizzas and drinks to keep the workers fed and cool in the May heat.

It's a time saver as well as a money saver complete with security,.

"I know it's taken care of properly," Davis said. "And thanks for the pen," he said, holding up the new WSLS 10 pen he received while in line.
