DANVILLE, Va. (WSLS 10) - The Danville Area Humane Society announced they're offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a person who they say deliberately ran over several goslings recently.

According to the facility, the incident happened around 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 as several goslings were trying to cross Highway 58 in the area of Steve Padgett Honda.

They said a light-colored car heading east on 58 hit and killed several of the goslings. The mother goose and other adult geese ran into the road to check on the babies.

"If that doesn't let you know that animals have feelings, we don't know what would," said the Danville Area Humane Society on their Facebook page.

Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is asked to call at (434) 799-0843. Callers may remain anonymous.

On Thursday, June 4 a local business owner increased the reward. It's now up to $1,500 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible.
