Associated Press – RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia landowners are eligible for federal funds to help manage forests.
The Virginia Department of Forestry says a total of $470,000 is available in the state. The first application deadline is July 8. A second round of applications will be accepted until July 22.

State foresters will help eligible landowners develop a plan to manage their land for specific purposes, such as recreation or wildlife habitat.
