ROANOKE (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - With a possible state title match looming, Cave Spring girls tennis team hit the court Monday in hopes to defeat James Monroe to advance to the gold medal match.

"It's very exciting, they have worked really hard. We knew coming into it, each year we get closer and closer and we're finally getting to this point," said Cave Spring girls tennis coach Susan Delp.

Coach Delp's team got the job done.  Number one singles player Fallon Delp led the way for the five game singles sweep.  The Lady Knights advance to the 3A state championship match Saturday at Liberty University.

The Hidden Valley boys tennis team were also in action Monday, the defending state champions were hoping to get one step closer to a repeat.

It's Ryan Teague's 13th season as head coach of the Titan's tennis team and he's seen lots of success in recent years including last years championship win.

"It's a good experience, fortunately almost all the guys have been to the state tournament each year they've been here," said Teague.

Hidden Valley took the 5-1 win in singles to advance.  They are headed back to the state championship in a rematch of last year's title game against regional rival Blacksburg.
