SALEM (WSLS 10) Virginia High's Austin Ray dominated on the mound, and his Bearcat teammates backed him up with plenty of offense in a 12-0 win Friday.

The victory in the 2A west regional semifinal bracket moves Virginia High into the Region Finals, and assures them a state semifinal date next week in the spring jubilee. Matthew Hunt hit a towering two-run home run in the top of the third to stake Virginia High out to a 4-0 lead. The Knights didn't manage a hit against Ray until the top of the 6th inning. They will take on Lebanon next, as they defeated Appomattox 3-0 in the other semifinal.
