Roanoke (WSLS 10) In Region 3A West Soccer action, the Blacksburg girls extended their state record winning streak to 39 games with a 3-0 win over Spotswood on their home turf. They advance to take on Lord Botetourt in the Region semifinals at Bogle Stadium. Lord Botetourt has a undefeated season of their own going, and they blanked Tunstall 4-0 in the Region quarters to advance.
On the Boys side, Blacksburg rolled over Brookville 8-0, as the perennial power Bruins had no problems with the Seminole District visitor.

Meanwhile, in 3A West baseball action, Staunton River and Turner Ashby were halted in the third inning with the visitors leading 1-0. A lightning and weather suspension followed and the game will be resumed at 5pm Tuesday at Staunton River. In other baseball news, Christiansburg handled Tunstall and Monticello edged William Byrd by a run to advance.
