ROANOKE, Va. (WSLS 10) - Eight microbreweries in the Roanoke Valley have teamed up to promote business and tourism in the area.
Within the last week, the group has begun passing out new rack cards to local stores and the local visitors center. The cards feature information and a map of the "Beerway".
Organizers say 10,000 cards will be distributed. The hope is that the cards will promote business for each of the breweries involved and encourage more people to visit the region.
The craft beer industry has grown locally in recent years. Four years ago there were only two breweries in the Roanoke Valley. There are now eight.

With the recent growth, the breweries felt it was important to partner and help educate people about what the area now has to offer.
You can pick up a card at the Roanoke Valley Convention and Visitors Bureau or at any of the eight breweries.
