WSLS 10 has been following his story this year. When he was 9-years old he couldn't walk or talk after being severely neglected.

"Nobody took the time to directly teach him how to walk like a human, how to speak like a human, how to get food appropriately. He was often times hungry and not fed so he just learned to adapt to his environment and we had to teach him how to be a normal boy," said Kimberly Irvin, the Minnick School transition coordinator.

Khamani is now 22-years old and has basic skills like how to make a bed, vacuum and take care of himself.
