Officials say first-degree murder carries a sentence of 20 years to life in prison. Court officials say the difference between murder in the first-degree and murder in the second-degree depends upon whether or not the killing was premeditated.

Both Ball and Taylor remain incarcerated in jail. June 19, 2015 has been set as a review date to see if the psychiatric evaluations have been completed for Taylor and to schedule her preliminary hearing. Ball is also due in court on June 19 for a preliminary hearing.
