And according to a new study, millennial moms face a unique challenge.
According to the report from the American Psychological Association, up to 16 percent of moms suffer from postpartum depression after giving birth for the first time. But it could be worse for millennial moms who may be more likely to go online for advice instead of a doctor's office.Â

Doctors say postpartum depression is triggered by childbirth and is associated with feelings of sadness, hopelessness and extreme anxiety. The disorder can be caused by hormone changes and sleep deprivation.Â
Doctors say some common ways to prevent postpartum depression include talk therapy, regular exercise, a healthy diet, sleep management and medication. They say it's important to seek medical advice only from a doctor, but there are helpful online resources for new mothers.Â
