MONETA (WSLS 10) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said it is investigating a murder that happened over the weekend. 

Sheriff Bill Overton said 66-year-old Brian Edward Foy was found shot to death in his home on Waterside Drive in the early morning hours of May 2. The initial investigation led officers to the victim's ex son-in-law, 31-year-old Daniel Arnot, who was in Toccoa, Georgia.

Arnot has been charged with first degree murder and was awaiting an extradition hearing in Georgia. 

Two additional suspects were arrested in connection to Foy's murder and burglary. Michael A. Edwards, 25, and Carrie E. Ramey, 25, both of Toccoa, Ga., were charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny. Both are also awaiting extradition hearings in Georgia. 

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.

Sheriff Overton sent thanks to Virginia State Police, the Rocky Mount Police Department, the Roanoke Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Stephens County Sheriff's Department in Georgia for their assistance in the investigation and apprehension of the suspects.
