Blacksburg-based app featured on Apple Watch

BLACKSBURG (WSLS 10) - You may have gotten your hands on the new Apple Watch which launched last week.  

If so, there is a good chance you will be using some handiwork from a company in Blacksburg.  

A group of entrepreneurs working out of Techpad in downtown Blacksburg created an app called Fitnet.  

Out of about 3,000 apps for the Apple Watch, Fitnet was featured by Apple as one of the best apps in both the healthy living category and the health and fitness category.  Only a few dozen received this honor.  

Fitnet is designed to give people five minutes of exercise each day wherever they may be, complete with videos, personal trainers and calorie counters.  

Fitnet is also available for iPhones and Androids.
