SALEM (WSLS 10) - A new piece of eye care technology used on astronauts at the International Space Station is now in southwest Virginia. Ā 

It is a machine that works much like an ultrasound to provide 3D images of the eye. Ā

Invision eye clinic in Salem is one of the first places in the area to get this $75,000 instrument. Ā They are hoping this will help with early detection of things like glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes complications. Ā 

The test takes less than five minutes and does not require any dilation. Ā
