Several streets including Route 460, Old Wolfe Creek Road and Monroe Street in Narrows flooded, causing temporary closures.

This came as water from both the New River and Wolfe Creek rose quickly. People who live there say they were not able to safely leave their homes Monday morning.

"We couldn't get out this morning. Down here in the road, it was about four feet deep, and down here it was completely blocked, maybe five, six feet in the road up there and couldn't get out. Nobody could get out, nobody could get in," Narrows resident Buck Clemons explained.

Much of the town park in Narrows was also covered in water.
