BETHESDA, Md. (AP) - A Virginia man who acknowledged having unprotected sex with two women in Maryland without telling them he was HIV positive is set to be sentenced Monday.
Twenty-eight-year-old Daniel Cleaves of Richmond pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment earlier this month. He could face up to 18 months in jail when he's sentenced in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Monday.

His defense attorney, Andrew Jezic, is asking that Cleaves be released and given credit for the more than three months he's been in jail.
The women involved in the case haven't tested positive for HIV, and Jezic says his client was on a drug that made his chances of transmitting the virus through intercourse "next to zero." He says Cleaves is genuinely remorseful for his conduct.
