Former contractor for Radford Army Ammunition plant charged with sexual assault

ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - A former contract employee at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant has been indicted by a federal grand jury on sexual assault charges against three victims.

Joshua Linkous, 39, of Dublin, has been charged with one count of aggravated sexual abuse by force, three counts of abusive sexual contact and five counts of attempted aggravated sexual abuse by force.

According to the indictment, Linkous is alleged to have sexually assaulted one victim multiple times between early 2013 and July, 2014. 

He is accused of assaulting a second victim around May 2014 and again around June 2014. He is charged with abusive sexual contact against the second victim for the June 2014 incident. 

A release from the Department of Justice said the incidents happened within the boundaries of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

The indictment also alleges that between August 2010 and December 2011, Linkous attempted to sexually assault a third victim. He is charged with abusive sexual contact for the incident with the third victim between August 2010 and December 2011. 

No information about whether or not incidents involving the third victim happened at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.

If convicted, Linkous faces a maximum possible penalty of life in prison.
