ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 81 sends a Rockbridge County Sheriff's deputy to the hospital.
Rockbridge County Emergency Manager Robert Foresman says Deputy Mark Embrey pulled a car over and was writing a ticket on Sunday when a tractor trailer attempted to move over and lost control causing it to overturn on its side.

Four vehicles were involved, including the tractor trailer and Embrey's cruiser near mile marker 204.
Foresman says Embrey was taken to Augusta Medical with non life threatening injuries. He was flown to UVA Medical Center as a precaution.
The driver of the tractor trailer has been charged with reckless driving by failing to maintain control of a vehicle.
According to VDOT, t
he tractor trailer will be moved to the side of the road to allow the travel lanes to be reopened. An operation to remove the tractor trailer from the interstate is scheduled for 10 p.m. Sunday.
