WYTHE CO. (WSLS 10) - One person was transported to the hospital Monday morning following a single-vehicle rollover along Cedar Springs Road in the Town of Rural Retreat. 

Police said a milk delivery truck hauling jugs of milk crashed into a creek while traveling along the roadway. They say the delivery truck tore through a fence and came to rest on its side in a creek that feeds into Reed Creek.

The driver was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Police say emergency crews were quick to contain the spilled milk as well as diesel fuel, both of which are hazardous to aquatic life.

Cedar Springs Rd., near the intersection of Cline Rd., remains closed to drivers and is not expected to open until later Monday afternoon.

Crews on the scene include the Rural Retreat Fire Department, Wythe County Sheriff's Office, Wythe County Department of Emergency Management and the Virginia State Police. Officials from the Virginia Department Environmental Quality.
