RADFORD (WSLS 10) -  Five puppies who were abandoned in a box by the New River are now in forever homes.

The five-week old boxer mixes were discovered by joggers on a boat ramp nearly three weeks ago.  They were taken to the Radford Animal Shelter, where they remained until they returned to full health.

The shelter confirms that as of this week, all five have made their way into loving homes and are doing great.

It has not been determined who was responsible for leaving the dogs by the river. Â
