LITTLE ROCK, AR (WSLS 10) - The search for Aysia Lewis and Donald Quesenberry took police to many ends of the country, from southwest Virginia to Illinois to Arkansas.Ā During the search, police said they discovered Aysia Lewis began communicating with a family member living in the New River Valle, as well an out-of-state friend using social media.Ā 

Investigators with the Christiansburg Police Department were able to use those communications to get information about Aysia's location. They also looked at Quesenberry's phone records.Ā

Police used social media to search for Aysia and Quesenberry

Investigators were able to identify an exact location for Aysia in Little Rock, Arkansas. The teen and Quesenberry were both at an apartment complex called Shadow Lake Apartment Homes.

When police arrived, they found the stolen vehicle with Illinois license plates, believed to be driven there by Quesenberry.

Police were able to get Aysia Lewis to come outside and talk with them. They said she appeared physically okay, and she was taken to the Western Arkansas Youth Shelter to wait until her family could pick her up.

Quesenberry was arrested and charged with theft here Arkansas.Ā Police in Little Rock said team work was the reason Aysia Lewis was found safe.

"Fortunately we had good information from the outside agency. We did have any prior knowledge that the suspect or young person was here. If it had not been for information from the Christiansburg Police Department we would not have known unless we go other calls or stumbled across the stolen vehicle. Fortunately things played out well,"Ā Lt. Sydney Allen with the Little Rock, AR Police Dept.Ā explained.

Police reach out to ā€˜Help Save the Next Girl' in search for missing teen

Quesenberry was taken to the Pulaski County, AR Regional Jail.Ā Christiansburg police are working with the Montgomery County Commonwealth's Attorney to bring him back to Virginia, where he faces charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

As for Lewis, her parents began making their way to Arkansas Friday to reunite with Aysia.
