CHARLOTTE, NC (WSLS 10 SPORTS) - Fresh out of high school NASCAR driver Chase Elliott will not only being appearing in five Sprint Cup races in 2015 but will be driving NASCAR legends Jeff Gordon's

No.24 Chevrolet

in the beginning of the 2016 season, which is when Gordon will give up his seat.

Elliott 19, made some remarks via twitter about how he feels about No.24, " Jeff Gordon will  never be replaced. And it will be a true honor to drive the 24 next year. This is one of the biggest  days of my life , and childhood dream come true. I simply hope to do my job for my team."                                                                                                    

"'Chase is extraordinary,'' Gordon told AP of Elliott, who is the youngest champion in the history of NASCAR's second-tier series.

 One of the races Elliott will be appearing in is the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series- STP 500 which takes place in Martinsville, VA on March 29. Tickets can be purchased now for as low as $53 on ticket center.

Elliott also is the son of  retired NASCAR driver Bill Elliott. Bill will be inducted in the 2015 Hall of Fame on Friday, and currently the holds the record for the fastest qualifying for any NASCAR event.
