Martin came to E.C. Glass from Appomattox in February of 2012 after a successful four-year stint there. Three years later, Martin's departure is announced through a release from Lynchburg City Schools.

The team was 11-21 in Martin's three seasons there, competing in the rugged Seminole District. Martin's records with the Hilltoppers were 4-7, 4-7 and 3-7 in his three seasons.

The media release announcing Martin's resignation said the school will begin a search for a new coach "very soon" and the school will keep the community up-to-date on the search progress.

"We are proud of all that our football team has accomplished during Coach Martin's tenure, and we look forward to great success, both on the field and off the field, for our players in the seasons ahead.

At E. C. Glass, our student-athletes have a rich tradition of excellence with outstanding community support, and we will continue to ensure that we have the right leaders to guide them as they reach their full potential."
